Hope House
It is my understanding that Hope House calls itself a behaviour modification center, not an addiction recovery and treatment center. For our son, Josh, this has been the most promising facility he has attended. I have asked him to share his impressions in the future. My big complaint is even those people who are being subsidized by the county to stay (to the tune of $2000. + per month) are expected to pay hundreds of dollars of their own money, on top of that, in order to have priveldges such as being allowed to smoke. This practice appears to be discriminatory to the poor. OftenI have seen addicts trade their drug addiction for drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. Does this policy impede the recovery of less fortunate residents?
All in all the councelors seem to be caring and interested in the recovery and sobriety of residents.
